Still life
Still Life is a genre that I got a deep affection for already while I was a student, and I have been involved in the genre until today, by giving it a personal expression. The genre reflects the artist's inner, visual universe, where neutral objects become living objects with characters and uniqueness, lifted out of their everyday triviality. The objects create an emotional tension, creating a communication between the objective reality and its subjective experience. This communication challenges thought, and it helps to recognize the essence of human being's relationship to the material environment.
In my still life, objects undergo a transformation from concrete objects to abstract expressions. In my collection, the transformation is represented by the cycle of the works "Transparent objects" and "Transformations".
The inspiration can origin from simple objects, such as old oil lamps from my collection or seasonal apples.
Various techniques and materials are used to implement the concept, such as methods for emphasizing lines, using contrasting colors and abstract shapes, creating emphases of elements in interaction with simplifications, which is typical of the expressionism genre.
